The Child Development Resource Center (CDRC) offers a variety of services to parents and families in Santa Cruz County through its Child Care Switchboard:

  • Free referrals to child care and community services in Santa Cruz County; A centralized information and referral network can help parents locate child care or recreation programs that meets their individual needs. CDRC operates the state- funded referral services for Santa Cruz County. This service provides information on licensed family child care homes, child care centers, recreation programs and license exempt programs and providers that wish to be in the referral files. Child care providers must request enrollment to be in the referral files.
  • Parenting information and assistance;
  • Information on child care rates and current openings;
  • Information about financial assistance (or “subsidies”) for child care expenses to low-income families who are working or in school or training programs;
  • Publication of Choosing Child Care brochures in English and Spanish on how to select child care services for families; and,
  • TrustLine Registry. TrustLine is a registry program available to all California parents. The program conducts background checks on license-exempt child care providers.
