Projects
CDRC frequently receives grants to augment its basic mandated services. Current CDRC projects include:
California Child Care Initiative Project:
The CCIP Project goal is to increase infant/toddler care capacity and quality in Santa Cruz County. Through our CCIP program, prospective family child care providers receive assistance with licensing, plus a minimum of 25 hours of free training. Our family child care providers receive valuable incentives by participating in CCIP. Everyone who completes the required number of hours is eligible for a variety of incentives including curriculum materials, health and safety supplies and equipment for their child care homes. In addition to training and incentives, all CCIP participants receive ongoing support and help to give children the best possible care as well as manage their businesses successfully.
Health & Safety Training Reimbursement Program:
CDRC will reimburse child care providers up to $65 per provider for successful completion of Health & Safety Infant/Todler CPR/First Aid training. Call 479-5284 for more information.
Special Needs Inclusion Project:
Funded by the California Department of Education, this project provides technical assistance to child care programs for the inclusion of children with special needs. A “warmline,” 831/477-5554, is provided to help answer providers’ questions regarding caring for children with special needs.
Growing Caring and Learning Project (GLC):
CDRC launched the Growing Caring and Learning Project to reach, support and train the largest, yet often ignored, segment of our child care provider community which is exempt from licensing. If you are a babysitter, aunt, uncle, grandparent, friend or neighbor that would like to receive free training and incentives please call CDRC to receive on going training information at 479-5282.
For additional information on any of these projects, call the CDRC at 831/479-5282.
