ABOUT CDRC
The Child Development Resource Center is the only child care resource & referral program for Santa Cruz County. CDRC provides a full range of services and information on early care and education and extended learning. Our dedicated friendly staff offers families a variety of child care options and can help with financial assistance.
CDRC programs include:
- Child Care Switchboard
The Child Care Switchboard offers free referrals to child care and recreation programs in Santa Cruz County. Information is provided to help families make informed child care choices based on child and family needs.
- Community Services
The CDRC addresses issues that affect children, child care professionals and families; including advocacy for child, family & child care related issues, liaison work with community organizations and information related to child care supply and demand.
- Early Education Resource Library
CDRC’s Early Education Resource Library provides information on starting and operating a family child care home or child care center, developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum development, health & safety guidelines, licensing regulations, and staff development tools.
- Professional Development
• CDRC offers ongoing research –based professional development on topics ranging from early literacy, infant toddler development, business acumen skills, and working with children with special needs and English learners.
The CDRC is funded by the California Department of Education, the County of Santa Cruz and the Cities of Capitola, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Watsonville, Santa Cruz County Human Resources Agency, foundations, private donations and other funding sources.
